Matthew 19-21

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him."

"Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit."

We know that we are saved by grace through faith and not by works. However, I am reminded that we need to continue to repent and believe in God. If we do not have that heart of humility to recognize our sins and God's holiness, we will eventually walk away from God and lose our faith.

During today's bible study, Pastor Tim mentioned how pastors are called to direct people to God and warn them. And I believe God wants us to be alert and be willing to draw close to him.

Let us commit ourselves fully onto God. Let us not be satisfied with where we are in our walk with God. I pray that we will continue to work out our salvation. "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose."
