Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
This is such an overwhelming instruction from Jesus. We are, as God's children, to go and make disciples of all nations. Whether we like it or not, it is what Jesus said.
I'm not sure anyone reading this can ever think they are up to the task. I, for one, feel very ashamed and useless, whenever this topic of evangelism is brought up. But...
I was reminded today that God did not give us the above instruction because he thinks we can do it. If anything, we'll make a mess of things and probably go around making enemies rather than disciples.
Only God can give us the power to share his word. And, more importantly, it is only God that can change someone's heart. All he is looking for in us is a genuine heart that is willing to be used by him.
Let us never limit God in our lives. He can and will do great miraculous things through us, despite of our weaknesses:)
